Nintendo Announces DSi LL (or DSi XL)

Nintendo's hand-held console - NDS...NDS Lite...DSi...(gosh so many names for a same product) has been doing so well for all these years, always in the royal status of the consoles sales chart.

Once again Nintendo announces a new improved version of NDS - DSi LL will be released on November 21, 2009 in Japan. In US and Europe regions, it will be named DSi XL.

The new DSi will feature:

1) Two screens measuring 4.2 inches in diagonal diameter (DSi: 3.25 inches, DS Lite: 3 inches, & Sony PSP-3000: 4.3 inches).

2)Battery life will run 4 to 5 hours on maximum brightness and 13 to 17 hours on lowest brightness (on par with the DS Lite).

3) Includes a regular stylus and an easier-to-hold stylus shaped like a rounded pen.

Sony announces the God Of War III Demo will be included into the Blu-ray version of District 9, which gonna release on December 29. The God of War III demo is built into the disc (in the same movie disc), once you beat that demo, you’ll also be able to check out a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the game.

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles Collectors' Edition (Wii)

Capcom Japan announces the Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles Collectors' Edition for the Wii.

Priced at ¥8,390, the collectors edition includes a soundtrack CD featuring orchestral arrangements of classic series songs, a DVD featuring promotional movies and other footage, and a reversible jacket.

The first print of the game will include a booklet called Darkside Report, it details all the characters and other info of the game.

Darkside Chronicles will be release on January 14, 2010.

Capcom Brings MT Framework to Wii

Capcom's proprietary MT Framework engine is one of the finest multi-platform game engine which powered Resident Evil 5, Lost Planet 2, and etc. for Xbox360 and Playstation3. Now Capcom attempts to use this engine on Nintendo Wii.

By bringing MT Framework engine 2.0 to additional platforms will improve the development efficiency and reduce development cost as well. So we probably will see games from Xbox360 and PS3 will appear to Nintendo Wii in the future.

Sega Memorial Hardware Zippo Lighter

Infinity Ward Enrage PC Gamers On Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer

The long awaiting Modern Warfare 2 is coming soon in November, which fans from all platforms should be very excited. However Infinity Ward recently layout the details of the PC version Modern Warfare 2 and introducing their new IWNET multiplayer channel; and with the new multiplayer channel, they have decided to drop the feature of dedicated server, means no more browsing through a Server List for a server with the settings / ping you want.

This news pisses a lot of PC fans, which is now they are signing petition to the developer (currently up to 132283 signatures). Click here if you wanna sign as well.

The IWNET features auto-match-making for multiplayer, it will automatically find you a game with the best performance, ping, and preferences based on your location and individual connection as well as matching you with players of your same SKILL. Actually I don't see this so bad, players from all around the world have different internet connection configurations, some players might experience slow connection and causing unpleasant gaming experience. KOF Sky Stage (Arcade)

Here the UPDATE from the previous post of The King OF Fighter: Sky Stage, a KOF vertical arcade shooting game (which nearly dropped my jaw and eye balls when I first hear it).

UPDATES:

1) Two more additional characters: Iori & Kula.

2) Sky Stage makes use of three buttons: "A" for standard shot, "B" for super move, and "C" for bombs.

3) The "super move" button is importance, which is the biggest feature of Sky Stage; it probably means... "NO SUPER, YOU ARE DEAD".

4) The "super move" gauge will be filled up by shooting the enemies, you can store up to 3 levels of power gauge, so player can unleash different level of "super power" to cause different level of damage.

Crytek officially announces that their latest multi-platform and all-in-one development solution CryENGINE 3 is now available for all developers.

CryENGINE 3 is the first game development platform for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, MMO, DX9/DX10 that also is truly Next-Gen-Ready – with scalable computation and graphics for all major upcoming platforms.

China Bans Foreign Investment In Local Online Games Industry

The People's Republic of China is building a great economic wall around its domestic online gaming industry. Reuters reports the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) is prohibiting investment by foreigners in the industry, through either "joint ventures, wholly owned enterprises and cooperatives."

To keep things even more in-house, the order also forbids foreign companies from influencing Chinese gaming firms through technology or other support agreements. The GAPP estimates the Chinese online market is worth about $4 billion.

Koei Announces Hokuto Musou (Fist of the North Star) (PS3, Xbox360)

Punch-Punch-Kick-Kick-Touch-Touch... "You already dead...". I love Fist of the North Star during my schooling-years; imagine you able to punch someone and then that guy just head-explode, or chest-explode.

Koei announces that Hokuto Musou (Fist of the North Star) in Dynasty Warriors-style adaptation, aiming to release on Playstation3 and Xbox360 in Japan, 2010.

Hokuto Musou is about the protagonist Kenshiro against hordes of gang members and savage armies answering to his elder brother, Raoh. As in the manga and anime, Kenshiro will have at his disposal Hokuto Shinken, an absurdly powerful martial art that allows masters to explode heads and liquefy internal organs through careful strikes to hidden pressure points on the human body. The game will include two main campaigns; one "faithful to the spirit" of the original manga adventure, and a second featuring Kenshiro in an original storyline.

The game is currently announced for Japan only, yet to confirm western release.

Uncharted: Eye Of Indra - Voiced Motion Comic

Naughty Dog announces a prequel to the original Uncharted, and it will be a motion comic voiced by two actors from the original game. It also features a new Uncharted girl, by the name of Rika. The announcement was made during a live chat on the Playstation website:

“We have an exclusive announcement! We're releasing a prequel story to Uncharted 1 as a motion comic voiced by your favorite actors from the two games. Stay tuned for more info.”

This was made by Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog. The announcements gives little info, it did not mention the specific releasing platform and the form of distribution (though mostly on Sony platform), but apparently there is a lot more information to follow! Stay tuned!

3D Dot Game Heroes - Gameplay (PS3)

Video footage of 3D Dot Game Heroes, a 2D-Dot-Direct-Translate-To-3D action RPG (gosh what a weird way to describe this).

It looks like very Dragon Quest-ish and Zelda-ish, and the character movement like stop-motion animation. When you attack and kill an enemy, it shattered into .... cubes. Hhhmm..kinda cute.
