Media Molecule have today announced the new Watchmen Costume Kit for their brilliantly creative platformer LittleBigPlanet. A video has been released that shows what you'll be getting in the pack. The pack will be released on Oct 1 on the PlayStation Network. For now though, you can watch the video below
A teaser was shown days ago hinting something Street Fighter IV-ish gonna be announced on 29th Sept (which is today).
Gamespot got a chance to have this behind the curtain interview with the producer of SFIV - Yoshinori Ono for an official announcement of Super Street Fighter IV for consoles. (check the video)
The producer explained the reason they jump directly into SUPER instead of 'DASH or TURBO due to the huge scale of upgrade:
- More new characters (about 8) - Improved online features - Game play balance tweak - New Ultra Combos for the original Street Fighter IV cast
Currently Capcom just revealed two new characters, T-Hawk (who we already know); Juri - the first Korean female character in SF series, who is also a Tae Kwon Do fighter; also mentioned that she is a very important in the storyline as well.
Capcom is aiming the release in Spring (or early Spring), and the game distribution will be in disc due to the huge content upgrade; the producer also promised that this will not be a full priced game (we can expect cheaper, yay). Super Street Fighter IV is a stand alone title, so it does not require the original SFIV disc to play; the publisher also plans to offer a special bonus to gamers who already own Street Fighter IV.
Capcom Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi demo-ing the motion control version of Resident Evil 5: Alternate Edition during the TGS 2009 Sony Press Conference.
From the first impression, the way that Capcom implements the technology to RE5, it works quite similar to Wii. However Sony motion controller doesn't have a nun-chuck, but using the DualShock3 game pad. You control the character movement, weapons select (which I think all the control functions that your left hand can do on the DualShock3 pad); you aim to shoot using the motion controller on your right hand, where you just aim with the cross hair towards the screen (and probably serves to function all the control which suppose on the right part of a DualShock3 pad).
The motion control helps a lot to make the aiming so much accurate than using the analog stick; even better than hooking up a FRAG FX mouse for PS3 first person shooter. BUT! Holding a DualShock3 pad on your other left hand?! Gosh that is so lame and also very tiresome. DualShock3 pad has quite a weight and if you hold it by one hand, it will loss balance and easily cause hand-fatigue; which is not USER FRIENDLY. (am I too picky or what?)
I hope Sony will come out a solution for this issue, the motion controller needs something handy like the Nun-Chuck, and flexible to be adopted by different game genres. Like the Wii motion controller can work on all sort of genres.
New Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles showing South America setting, feels like RE5. Jack Krauser, a antagonist in Resident Evil 4 who joined the sinister cult, Los Illuminados. Good show linking up the plot.
Sony is taking advantage of its exclusivity of Final Fantasy XIII in Japan by introducing a 250GB PS3 new bundle at the price of 41600 yen. Japanese gamers will get a special limited edition system with Lightning (the main character, not the weather condition) printed on the body. It'll be available for purchase on 12/17.
At the Tokyo Game Show, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that it will cut the price of the PSP-3000 in Japan starting October 1. The handheld gaming machine will be offered at ¥16,800 ($185), a ¥3,000 cheaper from its current ¥19,800($218) price.
Sony did not mention any changes to the price of its PSP Go, which is slated for Japanese release on November 1 for ¥26,800 ($295). But, as a launch campaign, the handheld will come with a product code that allows purchasers to download a free game from a selection of 14 SCE titles.
The PSP Go will get two new peripherals too: a Bluetooth headset adaptor that lets users wirelessly control music (¥4,980, $55) and a converter cable adapter (¥1,980 yen, $22) that lets users attach PSP accessories to their PSP Go, such as the GPS receiver, camera, and OneSeg TV tuner. The two peripherals will be released first in Japan on December 24 and then overseas (North America, Europe, Asia) sometime after January 2010.
Sony also revealed that the PSP Go will get the same lineup of accessories that the PSP already has. That includes the cradle, accessory pack, display protection film, privacy film, pouch & strap, D cable, component AV cable, AV cable, USB cable, and AC adapter. In Japan, the accessories will be released simultaneously with the PSP Go's launch.
Nintendo today announced that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will ship in North America on Sunday, November 15. The launch will come a month and a half after the Wii's price drops to $200
New Super Mario Bros. Wii features play for up to four players, with a heavy emphasis on co-op. In the E3 stage demo, the four in question were Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad. Activities demonstrated included the ability to pick up other players to solve environmental puzzles, with players also competing to secure the highest number of coins.
A long-awaited PS3 racing sim gets a release date at last in Tokyo Game Show. At the Sony Computer Entertainment conference, Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi revealed that Gran Turismo 5 has been set for a March 2010 release in Japan.
Before the PS3 release, the PSP version of GT will get its own bit of the racing action before its big-bro(GT5) arrives coming March. A special "Racing Pack" bundle, priced at ¥22,800 ($251), will include the Gran Turismo PSP UMD game disc, a special color PSP-3000, a Gran Turismo pouch and strap, and a 2GB memory stick pro. The special color PSP is based on the Piano Black PSP-3000, but with color changes made on the L/R buttons and the handheld's back ring to make it look like a car muffler. There's also a Gran Turismo logo in the front.
The cool thing for owning a GT PSP version before GT5... you will be able to take the data of their unlocked cars from their Gran Turismo PSP game and use it in Gran Turismo 5.
Nintendo of America announces the long-awaited first price cut for the Nintendo Wii. After both the Xbox 360 Elite and PlayStation 3 priced at $299, Nintendo has finally confirmed a $50 price cut to the Wii, effective this Sunday, September 27.
The $199.99 Wii will come with a Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and the original Wii Sports. The pack-in's follow-up, Wii Sports Resort, and its accompanying Wii MotionPlus attachment will still need to be purchased separately from the console.
At a Sony press conference in the Tokyo Games Show, Sony confirmed that the new motion controllers for the PS3 would indeed be available in spring 2010,
The company also revealed the first-party games support the new technology: - Ape Escape - Echochrome 2 - Eccentric Slider - Sing and Draw - Champions of Time - Motion Party - The Shoot - Tower
These will be new games which will incorporate motion controller use from their release. Other games such as Pain, Flower, Hustle Kings, High Velocity Bowling, and Eye Pets will be made compatible via downloadable updates.
At Capcom's press conference during the Tokyo Game Show, Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata announced that Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition is currently in development and it will arrive in Japan on the PlayStation 3 this spring. The game will support Sony's new EyeToy-compatible motion controller, which will be available in spring 2010.
Alternative Edition will feature game controls using the new Sony motion wand, which I believe it will do a direct on screen interaction like shooting or knife-melee attack in the game.
Another big change is the addition of a new episode featuring Chris and Jill. The episode will be based on the flashback scene from the original RE5, where the two characters infiltrate the Spencer estate in Europe; which means you'll actually be able to play through it.
Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition is currently announced for Japan only.
Capcom hinted that an Xbox 360 edition of the game with additional content is also planned, but not mentioned that it is a Project Natal game that Capcom is currently developing.
New Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker trailer from Tokyo Game Show 2009, revealing new characters and return of Master Miller from MGS1 (actually not return from...it is the beginning of...).
Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy is a non-profit fan-made movie by Hive Division. Inspired by the games by Hideo Kojima. Philanthropy is by no means a production related to Konami Corporations or Kojima Productions; MGS Philanthropy will be released on September, 27th 2009, very soon...
Tokyo Game Show Konami shared the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo with the world now, means that you no need to get yourself to Japan Tokyo Game Show to get the demo. IGN.com shares the demo and put it on their website.
Here are the requirements:
* You need Firmware 6.0 on the PSP * Download and unzip the file below. * Install the file by going into USB Mode on the PSP. * On your computer go to the PSP folder, then the game folder, then drop "NPJH90063" into that folder.
Though Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will be able to get their hands on Gearbox's CO-OP-FPS-RPG on October 20, PC gamers will have to go without Borderlands for six long days. According to IGN, a 2K representative explained that the release of the PC version had been pushed back to October 26 (and October 30 for overseas retailers) in order to allow the developer to continue "optimizing" the game.
Sony Computer Entertainment announced that November's God of War Collection will include the God of War III demo, four months before the game itself goes on sale. The demo will not be on the game disc but can be downloaded from the PlayStation Network with a code included in the game.
Of course, the main draw of the $40 God of War Collection will be its inclusion of the first two God of War games with remastered 720p high-definition graphics. Given the PS3's current lack of backward compatibility, the God of War collection will be the only way gamers without a PS2 or early PS3 model can enjoy the two games.
Valve's Left 4 Dead 2 lead level designer Kim Swift has just revealed at TGS09 that the Left 4 Dead 2 demo will be arriving on October 27th for both PC and Xbox 360. I can't wait to play the demo until the game officially launches on November 17th.
UPDATE: The demo will be only exclusive to both Steam and Xbox 360 pre-order customers on October 27.
Ferrari’s latest creation, the 458 Italia, is featured in the latest Gran Turismo 5 video, just released a few hours ago. You’ll see some very beautiful footage, along with our first look at some currently unkown road course. To spice things up, Ferrari appears to have commissioned this video by both Polyphony Digital and Turn 10 (Forza’s producers), and has released both company’s clips at the same time.
From my point of view, Gran Turismo 5 version has better presentation in this tribute video than Forza 3.
I like the slow camera pan showing the closed up details of the car; great camera angles; the car in motion with style; and a nice background music as well. However, Forza 3 makes the elegant European super car like a American muscle; simple camera shots; and rough background music.
A arcade Tetris game - "Tetris Dekaris" with giant joystick found displayed in the recent AM Show in Japan, developed by Sega. Besides the eye-catching giant joystick, nothing much different from a typical arcade box, a normal Tetris game; you move the bricks by pushing the joystick towards left or right; push downwards to speed up the drop; the buttons on the joystick for rotating the bricks. Cool isn't it?
I wonder if it is on a fighting game, with more buttons (big buttons), that will be cool and very exhausting also.
This sounds very disappointing and gives fear to all PS3 users. A probably a repeating scenario of the terrible Orange Box port on PS3, by letting EA to develop the PS3 port instead of Valve, who just handled Xbox360 development.
Bayonetta developer, Platinum Games, recently admitted on its blog that it was not developing the PS3 version; instead, it handed off PS3 porting to Sega. Platinum Games' CEO Tatsuya Minami wrote on the company's official blog that Platinum would be "overseeing the progress to ensure that the PS3 version would be the best it could be." However, instead of saying both versions will run identically, he simply advises PS3 owners to "[play] the game for yourself and [come] to your own conclusions."
Actually I have no doubt towards Sega ability to handle the port (fingers crossed), and probably Platinum Games has limited workforce or budget to handle multi-platform titles. Well, we will see how thing goes from the coming Tokyo Game Show 2009.

POINT OF VIEW, key partner to NVIDIA for its range of NVIDIA-based graphics cards, is today launching the new limited edition GeForce GTX 275 Batman: Arkham Asylum™ bundle.
Be one of the few to own one of these rare collectable editions that feature Batman’s most notorious enemy, The Joker! The videogame Batman: Arkham Asylum fully supports PhysX technology and 3D vision by NVIDIA.
POINT OF VIEW offers a truly fantastic bundle.
• One of the best selling Graphics cards in this industry: The GEFORCE GTX275 with 896MB DDR3 memory.
• A Voucher for the full version of the game BATMAN : ARKMAN ASYLUM (downloadable from www.nzone.com).
• A Free pair of 3D Discover Glasses.
The GEFORCE GTX 275 fully supports PhysX technology from NVIDIA. PhysX technology provides an even deeper level of engagement for players of Batman: Arkham Asylum by utilising the processing power of the NVIDIA GPU to render stunning in-game physics objects in the environment that not only add to the overall look of the game but create an immersive and believable world.
With PhysX technology enabled, players can explore darkened corridors packed with volumetric fog which reacts to Batman’s movement and cobwebs which tear with his passing. Combat becomes a maelstrom of motion as office papers are thrown into the air alongside soda cans and litter as Batman lands each punch upon The Joker’s henchmen. Throughout the game, the decaying gothic architecture is realised to an incredible detail with wall tiles chipping and breaking, stone pillars crumbling upon impact, and particles from breaking glass and debris falling and shattering down around Batman’s feet.
This bundle is only limited available in European e-tailers! (Darn~)
Need for Speed: Shift is already released days ago, and I still have not picked up the game yet. A friend of mine bought the PC version (which claims to have much more superior graphic than the consoles), he came to my place and installed the game into my PC, giving me a "test drive" to check on my PC performance (if it performs well with upper medium-high setting, then PC version will be my choice).
However, my PC unable to meet MY expectation (ok, it is a C2D 2.4Ghz, 2gb Ram, Win XP Pro, Nvidia Geforce 8600 GTS 256mb). I have to turn off and tune down quite a lot of graphic features to make it runs smooth, it ends up jaggy-AA, un-optimized screen resolution, medium texture quality, and still... unstable frame rate when racing with more than 10 cars.
The worst thing is... I'm freaking pissed of the graphic option setting, which you need to manually quit the game to apply the new setting! and with no reason, after restarting the game, it is restarted in WINDOW MODE where you need to go back to the graphic option again to turn OFF the window mode (which is suppose OFF) and quit to restart the game AGAIN! To sum up, once you need to do any graphic setting, you need to restart the game TWICE! Is this a bug or what?!
I spent quite some time to fine-tuning the graphic setting to cater my hardware specs, I had been restarting the game for more than 10 times!
So my conclusion is... FORGET IT, I have decided to get the console version, even with less graphical appeal than the PC version; I believe it won't be that big different.
Back to the NEWS
Electronic Arts has announced that a demo for Need for Speed: Shift is now available for PC. You can grab the demo from Big Download. A demo is also scheduled to hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 in early October.
Previously the announcement of the release delayed until sometime in 2010; now a good news, 2K Games announced that BioShock 2 will be available worldwide on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on February 9.
The single-player campaign is set 10 years after the events of BioShock, when, "along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture." The multiplayer component is set before the first game, allowing gamers a glimpse of life in Rapture as things started to go wrong in the undersea utopia, providing "a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction."
Bethesda also confirmed the October 13 release date for the Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition, available on PS3, Xbox, and 360, and including the game and all the DLC; it will cost $59.99.
As for PS3 owners who already playing the game and thirst for DLCs, Bethesda assured that the Fallout 3 downloadable content packs for PS3 would be available starting at the "end of September," and, as promised, Broken Steel will be up on September 24. It'll be followed by Operation Anchorage and The Pitt on October 1, and Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta on October 8. And also with trophy support for these DLC packs.
The iPhone/iPod Touch storms the mobile industry even since, tons of innovative peripherals appear to join the crowd; docking station serves a common usage for mobile devices, but this is something different...
Elonex's iGame Family is a TV dock for the iPhone/iPod Touch (and other iPod devices) that comes with six games and a remote inspired by Nintendo's Wii console. The games include tennis, bowling, ping pong, darts, "firecracker" and "trampoline." The dock also allows users to play their iPod's music and videos through the television.
Elonex is currently trying to recruit developers to create more titles for the console, which will then be sold at "official iGame retailers." We're currently checking with the company to see how much it plans to sell the device for and how integrated the wand is with non-iGame software.
Once an Xbox360 exclusive Square Enix JRPG Star Ocean: The Last Hope will be available for the PlayStation 3 worldwide on February 9. Square Enix did not indicate what, if any, enhancements or tweaks have been made to the PS3 edition of The Last Hope versus the 360 edition.
The "International" edition will feature language (Japanese and English) setting. which is COOL!
Microsoft and Activision have partnered to bundle a $400 "limited edition" Xbox 360 console with two wireless controllers and a copy of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The consoles will bundle with a 250GB HDD, also a CoD-themed paint job on the console. As for the game, the bundle packs with the "standard edition" of Modern Warfare 2 and includes the game's first two additional map packs before any other platform.
Pre-orders are apparently already open in the US, with other regions coming later time. Modern Warfare 2 will hit PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 10, this limited edition bundles presumably hitting the same day.
A 10m tall rubber duck has been sighted on the waterways of Osaka.
The prosaically named Suito Osaka Rubber Duck Project, designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, has seen a 9.5m tall by 11m long rubber duck statue floated on the city’s waterways, for no particular reason. The duck has previously menaced other cities, but this is its first appearance in Japan.

It is really hard to imagine that KOF - a fighting game, spinning-off becomes a vertical shooter featuring characters from the King of Fighters series.
SNK Playmore announces that KOF Sky Stage will be released this Winter in Japanese arcades, it is a fusion of both fighting and shooting game systems. Click here to the official site.
I wonder if there will be more KOF spin-off in the future, like KOF cooking game, KOF racing game, KOF Sports...
Konami Tokyo Game Show booth will offer a downloadable demo of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, those who bring along their PSP with them to TGS will be able to download the demo of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker; of course, the game will also be playable on the show floor as well.
DREAMCAST, Sega's last and final attempt in console market, which launched September 9, 1999. I don't want to put up all the console history or technical show-off, if you know nothing about Dreamcast, check on the videos or here; I'm just going to talk about my experience owning a Dreamcast.
I actually bought a Dreamcast just a couple of weeks away that Sega official wanted to shut the console down, I was quite "unhappy", and extremely pity about it. it was the first console which graphically and technically greater than Playstation 1 and N64; first to have built-in 56k modem to allow you to play ONLINE in a console; and the most important part, a great library of games (especially CAPCOM & SNK arcade fighters) which I LOVE MOST was offered.
I was extremely fond of CAPCOM & SNK fighters during that time, such like Street Fighter series, Dark Stalker series, Capcom VS series, KOF series and etc. And I used to own a Sega Saturn as well before getting a Dreamcast, with the same reason of a great library of arcade fighters with 100% port to the console. Playstation 1 was normally the first choice for games that time, better 3D graphic than Saturn and with huge variety of genres and exclusive blockbuster franchises; however it didn't do well when porting 2D arcade fighters, so I picked Saturn.
As for Dreamcast, albeit the bad shocking news; I was still enjoying the console which had all my favorites arcade fighters. Not only that, with the better 3D graphic capability, I enjoyed a great line-up of other genres as well, like Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Power Stones, Shenmue, SoulCalibur, Crazy Taxi, and much more. Which led my interest to other type of games instead of just arcade fighters.
Although I didn't really hook up my Dreamcast online, but just the rich content itself was a great joy. Unfortunately in the later years, my Dreamcast died, probably the internal power failure or something.
Well that's my story, I see Dreamcast is still a great console, the potential is still there; but the reality killed it. So Dreamcast (my love, if you can hear me from above), you have my respect and salute. Btw send my regards to your brother Saturn as well.
* Top "?" Dreamcast games! *
* A NEW Dreamcast game coming this October 2009! *
Redspotgames, a publisher that thankfully didn’t get the memo about the system’s demise, has just announced a new game for the Sega Dreamcast.
That’s right; Rush Rush Rally Racing will be hitting Amazon and eBay’s virtual store shelves this October for the low price of $22. I can’t believe this is a 2009 news, but you can pre-order this Dreamcast game now via the publisher’s website.
Rush Rush Rally Racing is an old-school, 2D, top-down, arcade-racing game for up to four players. The trailer, which you can watch after the jump, boasts “No realistic backgrounds. No sponsored cars. Only fun, retro gameplay.” Who knows if RRRR will be any good or not, but the gameplay in the trailer does look pretty darn entertaining.
After a long wait, finally... Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada officially sets the Japan release date of Final Fantasy XIII on 17th Dec 2009; it is a great news for FF or RPG fans.
The publisher also mentined that there will be a PS3 Slim bundle with the game as well for Japanese gamers; but not much details about it yet.
Unfortunately, the publisher did not confirm an exact release date for Western markets but did say it was shooting for a spring 2010 release; which will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 simultaneously in North America and Europe; most probably as usual around six months time after the Japanese release.
Torchlight, another Diablo-ish Action RPG to calm some thirst for Diablo III. It is unveiled at the PAX 2009 that it will launch on October 27 as a fully downloadable game for US$19.99.
The game developed by Runic Games, a PC-based entertainment software, designing games that focus on quality, approachability, and fun. Runic Games is staffed by team with experienced members, including leads on “Diablo,” “Diablo II,” “Diablo II: Lord of Destruction,” “Fate,” “Hellgate: London” and “Mythos.” Runic Games is located in Seattle, Washington, United States.
Shank is a new action/adventure game developed by a small team at Klei. As shown it is a side-scroller-action game, the graphic/animation like flash-vector-cartoony made; and very bloodily as well.
With a new PS3 comes a new PS3 logo, so it will apply to all PS3 product packaging. This is an example of the new redesigned PS3 game case, though not much different from the old one. The old design on the left, new on the right.
If you are waiting for Diablo III desperately, maybe this Action-hack-and-slash-mouse-clicking-RPG can be a temporary thirst relief for you.
DeathSpank is developed by indie game developer and publisher Hothead Games and created by Ron Gilbert, it is a mouse clicking ARPG like Diablo, comical look and feel.
Exact release date and other details are still unnanounced as the game in early in production.
A new massively multiplayer online role–playing game for the PC and Xbox 360 developed by FUNCOM (creators of ‘Age of Conan’, ‘Anarchy Online’, ‘The Longest Journey’ and 'Dreamfall').
Taking place on our earth, in our times, ‘The Secret World’ is inspired by history and mythology, modern conspiracy theories and ancient mysteries. Where magic exists, monsters roam and ancient forces are fighting for the dominance of earth. It is a world of legendary stories, ageless conflicts and powerful cabals. In this world, players can take part in the greatest conspiracies of our age, and battle the forces of darkness across the world and throughout time.
Sounds interesting, hopefully to see more game footage.
Nintendo DS version of Okami, it is a cute puppy instead of a big dog.
According to Famitsu, Okamiden will be an all-new adventure in the Okami universe, though it will be set in the same areas as the PS2 and Wii editions. Further, the game will follow a new, younger character several months after the events of the original. Gameplay will be similar to previous versions, and players will use the DS's stylus to draw the franchise's hallmark magical symbols.
Famitsu notes that Okamiden: Chiisaki Taiyou is due in Japan in 2010, a playable version of the game will be on hand at the Tokyo Game Show, which runs September 24-27.
SCEA has announced the Gran Turismo PSP bundle will be in store on October 20 at the price of $199. The bundle includes a "Mystic Silver" PSP-3000 with a UMD copy of Gran Turismo, downloadable white Corvette ZR1, 2GB Memory Stick, and vouchers for movie and music downloads from the PlayStation Store and Sony Music Pass.
GT fans who have not own a PSP, this is the right time.
Welcome to PlayMoraBox (formerly known as DwPlayBox), my personal video game realm with other interesting stuffs, and I would like to share them to you all.
